Did you know there is only one covered bridge still standing in South Carolina? Built in 1909, this bridge is a great place to make a quick stop if you’re traveling between Landrum and Greer. If you have time, take a picnic and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can walk down to the river and play in the water.
*Warning: According to the locals, beware of snakes in the summer.
The bridge is a very short walk from the gravel parking area and the paths are paved, so there’s no real hiking involved. Although there are no facilities, you’ll find a couple of benches and picnic tables.
Where is it?
Campbell’s Covered Bridge is located in Landrum, SC, approximately 20 minutes north of Greer. It just off of Highway 14.
While you’re there, be sure to go north just a few miles to The Junction, quite possibly the best Southern all-you-can-eat home cooked buffet in the state.
